Elkhart ECI and ECII Motorhomes Recalled for Air Conditioner Fire Risk
Elkhart is recalling 2006-2010 ECI and ECII motorhomes because a loose fuse in the air conditioner may cause arcing, melting, and fire.

The recall affects vehicles equipped with Carrier GenV EM-1 evaporator units. The defect involves a fuse that may loosen in the fuse holder due to time, temperature, and/or vibration, resulting in high resistance and arcing.
If sufficient arcing occurs, the fuse holder may melt, potentially accompanied by flame, smoke, and fire. Elkhart will notify owners and provide information on how to obtain a retrofit kit from Carrier along with repair instructions. This service will be performed free of charge. The safety recall began on January 5, 2012, and is associated with Carrier's recall campaign 11E-003.
