These units contain a Delphi Pack-Con III fuse holder in an Allied Motion motor assembly. The affected units were sold as aftermarket equipment or installed as original equipment on certain school and shuttle buses. The recall covers units with part numbers 77-62112-XX and 77-62512-XX, with serial numbers ranging from KNT90890232 to NNE91230058.

The defect involves the fuse potentially loosening in the fuse holder due to time, temperature, and/or vibration. This loosening can result in high resistance and arcing. If sufficient arcing occurs, the fuse holder may melt, potentially accompanied by flame, smoke, and fire.

Carrier will notify bus manufacturers, authorized dealers, and known owners of record. The company is working with these parties to identify and notify owners of buses that may have the affected units. Carrier will provide a retrofit kit and repair instructions free of charge.
