Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2016-2019 Elkhart ECE3 and ECE4 buses equipped with Freedman GO-ES Foldaway Seats. The recall addresses a defect where the back seat cushion may not remain locked in the upright position when under load, such as during a crash or sudden stop. Consequently, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) 207 and 210 regarding seating systems and seat belt anchorages.
In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury. The recall began on March 8, 2019.
