Startrans Bus Corporation is recalling certain model year 2010 and 2011 MFSAB school buses manufactured between April 14, 2010, and June 7, 2011. These vehicles are equipped with C. E. White self-latching seat cushions. The recall involves 69 affected vehicles.

The self-latching mechanism used to retain the seat cushion to the frame may not activate. As a result, these seats fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 222, which governs school bus passenger seating and crash protection. If the seat cushion flips up out of place during a vehicle crash, occupants may be injured. Additionally, out-of-position seat cushions could interfere with emergency egress from the vehicle.
