The defect involves the rear view mirror switch, which may overheat and cause the plastic housing to melt. This excessive heating can lead to a fire, resulting in smoke, operator distraction, or personal injury. Additionally, the overheated switch may cause the exterior rear view mirrors to fail to operate or adjust properly, preventing the driver from having full use of the mirrors and increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners will be notified by Van Hool via its dealer, ABC Bus Inc. Owners may choose to perform the repair themselves or take the vehicle to an ABC location for a free repair.
