PACCAR Incorporated is recalling certain model year 2011 Kenworth and Peterbilt vehicles due to a manufacturing defect in the seal installed on the output shaft of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve actuator. This defect may cause the seal to delaminate over time, allowing engine oil to leak from the EGR valve onto exhaust components.
The affected vehicles include Kenworth T700, T800, W900, and T660 models, as well as Peterbilt 365, 367, 384, 386, 387, and 388 models. The leaking of engine oil onto hot exhaust components, particularly when the engine is under significant load, may create the possibility of a fire.
