Plain-English summary

Reebok International Ltd. is recalling approximately 140,000 Reebok Classic Leather Zip children's side zip sneakers in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The sneakers are sold in toddler and child sizes up to size 9 and feature a small zippered pocket on the side. The zipper's pull tab, which is imprinted with the Reebok name and logo, can be twisted off, presenting a choking and ingestion hazard to children.

They are available in various color combinations including white/gold, black/gold, white/green, white/copper, black/copper, white/blue, black/blue, white/silver, black/silver, and white/garnet. The sneakers were made in Indonesia and China. CPSC and Reebok are not aware of any injuries from these sneakers, and the recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.

Consumers should take the sneakers away from their children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or exchange. For more information, consumers can call Reebok at (800) 648-5550 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday or visit www.reebok.com/recall.htm.
