Plain-English summary
The Little Tikes Company is voluntarily recalling approximately 245,000 Cozy Highback Swings, model no. 4637, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The swing is a bright blue plastic unit designed for children ages nine months to three years. It measures 13 inches wide, 12 inches long, and 14 inches high, and hangs by four yellow, weather-resistant ropes. The swing features a Little Tikes logo molded into the stationary front cross bar and does not have an adjustable T-bar closure.
The recall is due to a hazard where the swing may tip forward and possibly flip over while a child is swinging in it. Little Tikes has received 55 reports of the swing tipping forward, but no serious injuries have been reported.
The swings were sold nationwide in toy stores, department stores, and discount stores from January 1996 through April 1996 for approximately $15 to $18. Consumers should stop using the swing immediately and call Little Tikes at (800) 321-0183 to exchange it for a different model swing or a comparable Little Tikes product. Consumers may also write to Little Tikes at 2180 Barlow Road, Hudson, OH 44236.
