Plain-English summary
The Little Tikes Company is recalling approximately 160,000 Toddle Tots Dinosaur Mountain playsets in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall is due to a hazard where small plastic cups that hold palm trees may detach, posing a choking risk to young children.
The beige plastic playsets measure 23 inches long, 17 inches wide, and 16 inches high and resemble a rocky cave. They were sold nationwide at toy stores and other retail locations between June 1994 and December 1995 for approximately $30 to $40. The set includes a red footbridge, a blue moat, and various dinosaur and caveman figures.
CPSC is aware of 12 incidents where the cups detached. In eight cases, parents found the cups in a child's mouth. Parents found two children choking but were able to remove the pieces. Aside from a cut finger, no other injuries have been reported. Consumers should not allow children to play with the playset and should call Little Tikes at (800) 321-0183 to exchange the product. The company will pay for shipping charges associated with the exchange.
