(formerly Wholesale Warehousing Industries) of Irvine, Calif., are voluntarily recalling about 82,000 "My Alphabetic Truck" toys, style SHYE-AT-002. The recall was initiated after CPSC "use and abuse" testing revealed that small parts could be generated from the toy, presenting a potential choking hazard to young children.

The recalled trucks are 12-inch lacquered wood toys with red wheels and one or two non-removable wooden peg men in the front cab. They feature thirty wooden blocks with pictures and letters mounted to the bed and have a "MADE IN CHINA" sticker on the underside. The toys cost about $5 and were sold door-to-door nationwide between August 1993 and June 1994. Neither CPSC nor the manufacturer is aware of any injuries associated with the product.

Consumers should take the truck away from children and discard or destroy the product. The manufacturer, DS-MAX U.S.A. Inc., is out of business and cannot be contacted.
