Division Sales Recalls Wooden Toy Trucks Due to Choking Hazard

Division Sales Inc. is recalling about 6,300 wooden toy trucks sold nationwide from 1993 to 1996 because small parts in the cab pose a choking hazard to young children.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a choking hazard from small parts in a toy intended for children, which fits the rubric criterion for 'risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.'

Plain-English summary

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Division Sales Inc. of Itasca, Illinois, is recalling approximately 6,300 wooden toy trucks. The recall involves natural wood toy trucks measuring 12 inches long and 4 inches high, featuring six red wheels, two red headlights, and a 14-inch red pull cord. The trucks include 16 alphabet blocks and two green and blue balls, with two figures sitting in the cab. The packaging is labeled in part, "WOOD BLOCKS &TRUCK...MADE IN CHINA...FOR JUSTEN PRODUCTS...".

The recall is being conducted because the wooden balls and figures in the cab are small parts that present a choking hazard to young children. CPSC and Division Sales Inc. are not aware of any injuries involving these toys, and the recall is intended to prevent the possibility of injury.

The toys were sold at dollar-type, discount, hardware, thrift, and drug stores nationwide from October 1993 through November 1996 for approximately $1 to $5. Consumers should take the recalled toys away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.
