Plain-English summary
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is voluntarily recalling approximately 4,700 "Bunny on a Stick" Easter rattles, item number 100660. These wooden toys were sold nationwide in Wal-Mart stores from February 1 to April 15, 1992, for approximately $2.00 each. The items were imported from Taiwan.
The recall was initiated because the product failed the CPSC rattle test. The four-inch long by half-inch diameter wooden handle presents a choking hazard. Additionally, two one-half inch diameter wooden balls attached to the item came off during testing, also presenting a choking hazard. Wal-Mart reported one instance of a child nearly choking on one of the small wooden balls, but neither CPSC nor the company is aware of any other safety complaints or injuries.
Consumers are urged to take the Bunny on a Stick item away from young children immediately. The product should be returned to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers with questions may contact Wal-Mart at 1-501-273-4314.
