Everything's A Dollar, Inc. is voluntarily recalling 11,616 Fish-Style Jolly Rattles (article 84567) in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). These circular, fish-shaped plastic rattles were sold for $1.00 each at 73 Everything's A Dollar retail stores in the Midwest and East Coast from November 17, 1991, to November 23, 1991. The products were imported from China.

The recall is being conducted because the beads inside the rattle may separate, posing a potential choking or aspiration hazard for young children. During testing in accordance with regulations under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act, three rings and the beads inside the rattle separated. The potentially hazardous toys were identified at the Port of Chicago, IL, during a joint CPSC/U.S. Customs surveillance program.

Neither CPSC nor the company is aware of any injuries involving this product. Consumers are urged to take the rattles away from young children immediately and discard or destroy these products. The firm is out of business.
