M. Adler's Son, Inc. is voluntarily recalling 93,000 plastic flower-shaped baby rattles, model number M6588. The recall was initiated because the rattles may break, and the resulting pieces may pose a choking hazard to infants and young children.

The affected rattles are six inches long, made of white plastic with circles on both ends, and contain a blue, pink, or yellow flower with colored beads inside the petals. The products were manufactured in China and sold nationwide from October 1987 to October 1988. The U.S. Customs Service identified the hazardous rattles at the Port of Oakland, California, during a joint import surveillance program with the CPSC.
