The baby rattle, made in Sweden, was sold nationwide through retail stores starting in January 1988. It is a yellow plastic flower-shaped rattle with a clear cover containing nine multi-colored plastic beads, packaged with a large red plastic bolt for mounting on a crib bar.

The recall is being conducted because the rattle may break apart if dropped, releasing small beads that pose a choking hazard. Additionally, the flower petals may break off, producing sharp points that pose a laceration hazard to young children. Neither the CPSC nor the company is aware of any injuries involving this product.

Consumers are urged to take these toys away from young children immediately. They should return the product to the store where purchased for a refund of the purchase price or mail it to Small World Toys at 5711 Buckingham Parkway, Culver City, CA 90230 for a refund including postage.
