Plain-English summary

Baby Buddies Inc. is recalling early models of Baby Buddy Clip-On pacifier holders in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall involves specific color combinations: pink ribbon/white bear, baby blue ribbon/baby blue bear, yellow ribbon/brown bear, red ribbon/white bear (with a preen scarf), and red ribbon/brown bear (with a green scarf). These units can be distinguished from the new model by the absence of two round holes on the back of the clip.

The recalled pacifier holders present a potential choking hazard because the small bear figure can separate from the strap. CPSC testing confirmed that the bear figure could separate and be swallowed by infants. Approximately 9,000 units were distributed nationwide from March 1986 through March 1987. Neither the CPSC nor Baby Buddies Inc. is aware of any injuries involving these products.

Consumers are urged to take the pacifier holders away from babies immediately. They should return the items to the retail store where they were purchased or to Baby Buddies, Inc. for a replacement. Consumers can contact Baby Buddies, Inc. at 813-934-2359 for additional information.
