Dynacraft Industries Inc. is conducting a voluntary replacement program for plastic wheel rims on approximately 6,000 Model #8522 "Magna" 12-inch sidewalk bicycles. These bicycles were sold since March 1985. The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The potential hazard involves the plastic wheel rims breaking during the tire inflation process. If the tire is inflated beyond the recommended 30 psi, specifically to 90 psi or above, the plastic rims may shatter. This breakage could strike the user or bystanders, potentially causing lacerations or other injuries. Dynacraft and the CPSC are not aware of any incidents involving injury with this product, but laboratory tests indicated the potential for breakage.

Consumers can obtain a replacement of the affected wheel rims free of charge by returning the entire bicycle to the Child World store from which it was purchased. The bicycle itself does not need to be replaced, but it must be returned to receive the non-plastic rim replacements.
