The recall addresses a defect where the plastic buckle on some harnesses may unbuckle or disengage during use, which could cause a child to fall from the carrier.
The affected carriers were sold nationwide between February and July 1986 and can be identified by stock number 82595 on the outside of the box. The retail price for these carriers was up to $40.00. D&R Industries is aware of six reported instances where the buckle failed to engage, but no injuries have been reported.
Parents are cautioned not to use the carrier until the shoulder harness buckle is replaced. Consumers may order a new shoulder harness free of charge from D&R Industries by calling 1-800-323-2852, or 312-677-3200 collect for residents of Illinois, Hawaii, and Alaska.
