Only refrigerators with serial numbers beginning with RUH, RUJ, RUK, or RUL followed by five numbers are included in this recall. The company emphasized that no shock incidents have been reported regarding these refrigerators.

Consumers should locate the serial plate on the lower left-front corner of the refrigerator above the kick plate grating to verify if their unit is affected. Those with affected models should contact their dealer for inspection and repair at no charge. If the dealer cannot be reached, consumers may contact Magic Chef at 615-472-3371 or the CPSC at 800-638-2772.
