Polaris Recalls Ranger XP Kinetic and Pro XD Kinetic ROVs Due to Fire Hazard

What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: Six fire or melting incidents and four sparking incidents have been reported, demonstrating actual property damage from this defect. Although no injuries have been reported, the manifest fire hazard in high-voltage electrical systems affecting recreational vehicles justifies a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
This recall involves approximately 4,900 Model Year 2023-2024 Ranger XP Kinetic and Model Year 2025 Pro XD Kinetic recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs), plus about 185 accessory charger service parts and kits.
A cracked filter can allow water to leak into the ROVs' high-voltage charging harness components and cause a short circuit, creating a fire hazard. Polaris has received 47 reports of filter failures, including six reports of fire or melting and four reports of sparking or smoke. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled vehicles were sold through Polaris dealers nationwide from April 2023 through March 2025, priced between $24,000 and $37,500. An additional 330 vehicles were sold in Canada.
