Polaris Ranger XD and Crew XD Recreational Vehicles Recalled for Door Latch Failure

Polaris Industries is recalling certain Model Year 2024-2025 Ranger XD 1500 and Crew XD 1500 recreational off-road vehicles (ROVs) because the door handles can stick and cause doors to unexpectedly open while the vehicle is moving. An open door could allow an unrestrained rider to be ejected from the vehicle or increase the risk of a crash.

The recall affects approximately 4,200 vehicles and 393 accessory doors, which were sold by Polaris dealers nationwide from November 2023 through November 2024 at prices ranging from $40,000 to $50,500. The recalled vehicles are available in camouflage, red, silver, and titanium colors in three- and six-seat configurations. Accessory doors with part numbers 2212292, 2212291, 2638498, 2638499, 2638500, 2638501, 2889075, or 2889076 purchased prior to November 11, 2024 are also affected.

Polaris has received 20 reports of doors opening unexpectedly while the recalled vehicles were in use. No injuries or crashes have been reported as of the recall announcement.

Consumers should contact Polaris at 800-765-2747 (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT, Monday-Friday), visit www.polaris.com, or email [email protected] to verify whether their vehicle is affected using the vehicle identification number (VIN). Polaris is contacting registered vehicle owners directly with instructions on how to inspect their door handles to confirm proper closure, which will allow safe operation of the vehicle until a repair can be completed.
