CVB Platform Beds with Upholstered Headboards Recalled for Fall and Injury Hazards

About 137,000 Lucid platform beds with upholstered square tufted headboards can sag, break, or collapse during use. The manufacturer has received 245 reports of structural failure resulting in 18 reported injuries.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The source reports 18 confirmed injuries (contusions and bruises) resulting from the structural defect. Although no hospitalizations or deaths are reported, the combination of a high-risk structural failure mode (collapse causing falls) with documented injury reports places this at the High level per the rubric's criterion for "risk-of-harm products where injury has been reported."
