Razor Icon Electric Scooters Recalled Due to Fall Hazard
Razor is recalling about 7,300 Icon electric scooters because the downtube can separate from the floorboard during use, causing falls. The company has received 34 reports of downtube separation with two reported injuries.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural defect (downtube separation) that directly poses a risk of injury. Although only two injuries have been reported, the hazard is a known risk-of-harm product where the mechanism of injury (falls) is established and has been reported, meeting the "High" criteria for risk-of-harm products with injury reports.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled scooters and contact Razor. Consumers with proof of purchase for scooters bought on or after March 11, 2023, can receive a full refund. All other consumers can request a $700 coupon for a future purchase on Razor.com or a $300 refund. Consumers will be asked to remove and return only the handlebar to Razor, who will provide a prepaid shipping label and pouch. Lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of in accordance with local and state laws and not in the trash. The rest of the scooter should be disposed of separately according to local and state laws.
