Plain-English summary
Razor USA LLC is recalling approximately 103,000 PowerWing three-wheeled scooters. The recall is due to a laceration hazard where the undersides of the foot platforms can have sharp edges, posing a risk of injury to children.
The scooters were sold in black or silver at authorized retailers nationwide and online from October 2007 through September 2008 for about $100. The recall includes products with serial numbers beginning with Y708 through Y808, located on the bottom of the scooter near the front wheel. Products with an oval sticker next to the serial number featuring a "V" followed by any letter are not included in the recall.
Razor has received 10 reports of Achilles tendon or ankle lacerations, including four consumers who required tendon surgery and three who needed stitches. Parents should immediately stop children from using the product and not return it to retailers. Consumers should contact Razor for a set of free replacement foot platforms.
