The trimmers have a teal and black handle with a steel blade and feature "Makita" printed on the side; the serial number is located on the battery mounting port.

No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cordless hedge trimmers and contact Makita U.S.A. Inc. at 800-462-5482 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. ET) for a free repair. Makita will provide a merchandise return label to ship the trimmers back for free installation of a new blade guard and will return the repaired unit with the teal-colored guard in place.
