Pier 1 Imports is recalling approximately 6,000 upholstered swivel desk chairs sold in the United States and about 300 in Canada. The recall involves five specific collections: Brennon, Corinne, Devon, Emille, and Hourglass. These adjustable chairs feature a base with five wheels and were manufactured in China between April 2019 and September 2019. Model numbers and manufacture date codes are printed on a label located on the underside of the seat.
The chairs are being recalled because the legs can break, which poses fall and injury hazards to users. Pier 1 has received 29 reports of chair legs breaking, resulting in one minor back injury. The affected chairs were sold at Pier 1 stores nationwide and online at www.Pier1.com from May 2019 through November 2019 for prices between $260 and $450.
