The recall also covers about 800 units sold in Canada. The affected models include the Sport Base, Sport Resort, Sport Base Plus, Sport Resort Plus, and Sport Focus. These devices are used by scuba divers to maintain buoyancy underwater.

The recall is due to a defect in the BCD inflators where buttons can break or fracture. This failure can lead to a rapid loss of air or automatic inflation of the BCD, which creates a drowning hazard for divers. The company has received 23 reports of the button breaking, but no injuries have been reported. The affected serial numbers are located on the inside of the BCD pocket and include specific ranges such as 620150000 - 620150800 and 2015081625 - 2015080921.

The recalled BCDs were sold through Zeagle dealers and scuba diving equipment stores nationwide from August 2015 through July 2018 for prices between $320 and $430. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled BCDs and contact Zeagle toll-free at 888-270-8595 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday, or visit the company's website to receive instructions for a free replacement.
