What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (burn and laceration hazards from breaking glass) where injury has not yet been reported, which aligns with the High severity criteria.

Plain-English summary

Tiffany & Co. is recalling approximately 3,300 Wheat Leaf Crystal Mugs due to burn and laceration hazards. The 11-ounce crystal glass mugs, which feature a wheat leaf pattern and measure about 3.5 inches tall, can crack or break when used with or exposed to hot liquids. The mugs were manufactured by STEKLARNA ROGAŠKA D.D. of Slovenia and imported by Tiffany and Company of New York, N.Y.

Tiffany & Co. has received six reports of the mugs breaking when hot liquid was poured into them, but no injuries have been reported. The affected mugs were sold in Tiffany & Co. stores, online at www.tiffany.com, in the 2017 Home and Accessories catalog, and through the "Tiffany For Business" sales channel in the U.S. from October 2017 through December 2017 for about $60 each.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mugs and contact Tiffany & Co. for a full refund plus a $100 gift card. The company is directly contacting consumers who purchased the mugs. If a mug is broken, consumers should carefully dispose of the glass and contact Tiffany & Co. for the refund and gift card rather than attempting to return the product.
