Plain-English summary
Wildhorn Outfitters is recalling approximately 9,700 Outpost 1 and Outpost II camping hammocks, as well as standalone Litespeed Suspension Kits. The recall involves 100-percent nylon hammocks in various colors, including gray, blue, orange, and green, which feature a label with "Wildhorn Outfitters" stitched on them. The products were sold online at amazon.com and wildhornoutfitters.com from June 2016 through August 2016 for between $25 and $60.
The recall is due to a fall hazard. The cinch buckles included with the hammocks and suspension kits can fail, causing the straps to detach from the hammock. Wildhorn has received three reports of cinch buckles breaking, including one report of a minor laceration injury.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hammock cinch buckles and contact Wildhorn Outfitters. The company will ship replacement buckles free of charge and provide a prepaid envelope for consumers to return the defective buckles. Wildhorn is also contacting all consumers directly.
