The affected sharpeners have a silver body, six pencil sharpener openings on a black front dial, and a removable pencil shaving tray. The model number is printed on a sticker on the bottom, and the date code is visible inside the unit when the tray is removed.

The electric components inside the sharpeners can energize the unit, posing a shock hazard. Amax has received one report of a consumer who received a shock from the recalled product. No other injuries or illnesses have been reported.
