Sunbeam Products, Inc. is recalling Holmes brand oil-filled heaters, model numbers HOH3000 and HOH3000B, due to a scald hazard. The heaters are black or white, approximately 23 inches tall, 6 inches deep, and 12 inches wide. The "Holmes" logo is located near the power switch and temperature control. Affected units have a code on the heater plug blade ranging from G192 through G298.

The recalled heaters can unexpectedly spray heated oil, which poses a risk of scalding. The company has received approximately 40 reports of units spraying heated oil, resulting in property damage to carpets and fabrics. No injuries have been reported. About 34,000 units were sold in the United States at Target and small department stores nationwide from August 2014 through November 2014 for about $50 each.
