Bodum USA is recalling approximately 28,000 Bodum® rose gold Chambord locking lid 8-cup glass coffee presses. These products were sold exclusively at Starbucks stores nationwide and online at starbucks.com from November 2013 through December 2013 for about $40. The coffee presses feature a rose gold-colored metal frame with a black molded plastic base, holding the glass carafe, screen, and plunger.

The recall is due to a hazard where the glass carafe can fall out of the metal frame and plastic base, causing the glass to break or shatter. This poses laceration and burn hazards to consumers. Bodum has received about 14 reports of the glass carafes breaking or shattering when the plastic base separated from the metal frame. These incidents resulted in four reports of minor injuries, including two lacerations and two burns.

Consumers should stop using the recalled coffee presses immediately. They should return the products to the Starbucks store where purchased or contact Bodum for a full refund. Consumers who purchased the coffee presses online should contact Bodum for a pre-paid return label to return the items for a full refund.
