Ergotron Inc. is recalling approximately 196,200 interactive wall mounts in the United States, 60 in Canada, and 21,000 in Mexico. The affected models include the PLAY40, PLAY40DS, PLAY70, ITV-HD, ITV-VHD, OM80FM, OBFM120, OBFM60, and OC80FM. These mounts were sold at retailers including AAFES, h.h.Gregg, Sam's Club, Walmart, and Amazon.com from February 2012 to January 2013 for between $50 and $400.

The recall is due to a risk that the weld between the VESA-style mounting plate and the mounting ring can fail. This failure allows the monitor or television to fall, posing a risk of injury to bystanders. Ergotron has received three reports of the monitor plate separating from the wall mount system, resulting in property damage to components of the wall mount unit. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately remove the TV or monitor from the mount and contact Ergotron for a free repair kit. The model number and date codes are printed on the underside of the arms for PLAY and ITV models, or on the front surface of the wall mount bracket for OM80FM, OBFM120, and OBFM60 models.
