These adaptors are used to secure infant car seats onto Baby Jogger strollers.
The recall is due to a hazard where the car seat adaptor support bars can fail, causing the car seat to fall to the floor. Baby Jogger has received 47 reports of the support bars failing and car seats falling. These reports include two incidents where infants were injured, resulting in bruises to the head and toes.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled car seat adaptors. They should contact Baby Jogger at (800) 241-1848 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit www.babyjogger.com and click on the Recall Information tab, to obtain free replacement support bars. The recalled adaptors can be identified by the model number on the lower right-hand corner of the original package and the manufacturing date on a sticker on the bottom of the package. The A support bar on the recalled units has a red plastic tip with 10 holes; newer models with four holes are not affected.
