Baby Trend Inc. is recalling approximately 1,500 Road Runner jogging strollers, model number 9592T. The strollers are aluminum, three-wheeled units with hand brakes and blue canvas-type fabric seats. The recall was initiated because the strollers were shipped without the two additional straps that secure the back corners of the seat to the stroller frame. These strollers were sold nationwide at Baby's "R" Us stores between January 1999 and April 1999 for about $200.
The missing straps create a hazard where a child in the seat can lean forward and fall out of the stroller. Baby Trend has received one report of an 8-month-old baby boy falling out of a stroller with unsecured seat straps and bumping his head.
Consumers should stop using these strollers immediately and examine the stroller to determine if the seat is strapped to the stroller frame.
