The recall involves approximately 45,300 units of these infant toys, which are designed to attach to strollers or car seats. The toys feature multi-colored fabrics, movable arms and legs, and a clear plastic sphere body containing rattle beads.
The recall is due to a choking hazard. The beads inside the clear plastic sphere at the center of the toys can be released. Sassy has received 12 reports of beads being released from the plastic sphere on Sassy-branded toys. There have been no such reports for the Carter's-branded toys. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled toys were sold between July 2012 and October 2012 for Sassy-branded models, and from August 2011 to October 2012 for Carter's-branded models. They were sold at mass merchandisers like Toys R Us and Target, independent specialty stores, online retailers like Amazon.com and Carters.com, and Carter's retail stores. Sassy-branded models sold for approximately $8, while Carter's-branded models sold for approximately $14.
