The recalled units were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores nationwide and online between January 2012 and September 2012 for about $230.
The recall is due to a hazard where the trigger assembly can malfunction and involuntarily discharge a fastener, posing a laceration or injury hazard to consumers. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. The nailers are orange and gray, handheld, drill-shaped tools with "RIDGID" printed in white on a black panel. Affected serial numbers for the Coil Roofing Nailer range from ER114600001 through ER1217008424, and for the Clipped Head Framing Nailer from ER114600001 through ER1215004424. Nailers with a blue dot on the product packaging are not included in the recall.
