Dream on Me Recalls Drop-Side Cribs Due to Entrapment and Fall Hazards

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the firm are aware of 69 reports of incidents involving these cribs. Specific injuries reported include a scratch to the nose sustained by a 1-year-old boy who became trapped between the mattress support and side rail of a portable crib, and a minor head injury sustained by an 8-month-old girl from exposed plastic hardware inside a portable crib.

Consumers should immediately stop using these cribs and contact Dream on Me, Inc. to obtain a remedy. For full-size cribs, consumers will be provided a free kit to immobilize the drop side, available beginning June 30, 2011. For portable cribs, consumers can receive a free replacement portable crib with fixed sides, available in mid-July 2011.
