The recall involves approximately 600,000 units of specific models, including the Aspen, Crib N Changer Combo, Gabrielle, Camille, Providence, and Shenandoah. These cribs were sold nationwide at department stores, children's stores, and mass merchandisers between January 2005 and August 2008 for between $150 and $300.

The hazard exists because sizing problems with the crib's hardware can cause the drop side to come off the tracks. When the drop side detaches or partially detaches, it creates a hazardous gap that can lead to infant entrapment and suffocation. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Safe for Children Association (SFCA) are aware of nine incidents where the drop side detached on cribs included in this recall, though no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs and find an alternative, safe sleeping environment for their baby. To identify if a crib is affected, check the label on the headboard under the mattress support for a date code ending in 05DH, 05GB, 06DH, 06GB, 07DH, or 07GB. Affected model numbers include 8620, 8745, 8748, 8755, 8756, 8778, 8810, and 8994. Consumers should return the recalled crib to the place of purchase for a refund or store credit.
