Plain-English summary
Sportcraft Ltd. is recalling approximately 2,600 large, inflatable bounce houses, including the "Castle Kingdom," "Jump 'N' Kingdom," and "Bounce 'N' Playhouse" models. The recall involves units inflated by a yellow, horizontal fan with model number FJ4-330C or FJ4-330C2 printed on a silver sticker. Bounce houses with an "N" at the end of the fan model number are not included in this recall.
The fan and the plastic housing surrounding it can break apart during use, posing a risk of impact injury to consumers. Sportcraft has received three reports of the fan unit breaking apart, but no injuries have been reported. The products were sold at Academy Sports and Outdoors and Sport Chalet stores nationwide from September 2006 through January 2007 for between $200 and $300.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bounce houses. Because the firm is out of business, a remedy is no longer available. Consumers are advised to destroy or discard the product and may call the CPSC hotline at 800-638-2772 for assistance.
