Mitsubishi Outlander liftgate gas springs may rupture or fail

Mitsubishi Motors is recalling certain Outlander and Outlander PHEV vehicles because the liftgate gas springs may corrode, lose pressure, and rupture, causing the liftgate to fall unexpectedly.

Mitsubishi Motors will replace the left and right liftgate gas springs at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 17, 2026.
