The Model 57-1504-A was sold separately with interlocking nozzles, while the Model 57-1504 was included with the Sportsstuff "Launch Pod" inflatable water trampoline. The recall was first announced in January 2007 and re-announced in October 2007 after additional injuries were reported.

The recalled air pumps can overheat and explode during use, posing a risk of lacerations. Since the initial recall announcement, 16 additional explosions have been reported. Ten consumers suffered laceration injuries, including two who required stitches. The pumps were sold nationwide from January 2004 through January 2005 for about $50. The "Launch Pod" water trampolines that included the recalled pumps were sold at Sam's Club from January 2004 through August 2004 for about $375.

Consumers should immediately stop using the pumps and contact Sportsstuff for a free replacement. The model number and date code "0104" are located on the label on the top of the pump.
