The affected products were sold under various brands, including Delta, Excell, Porter-Cable, Pressure-Wave, and Water Driver, at home centers and hardware stores nationwide. Pressure washers were sold between January 2004 and November 2005 for $300 to $1,400, while air compressors were sold between December 2004 and October 2006 for $300 to $500. Only units with pneumatic tires featuring plastic hubs are affected; those with solid tires or metal hubs are not included in the recall.
DeVilbiss has received more than 100 injury reports, including hand and finger fractures and lacerations, as well as reports of minor property and vehicle damage. Consumers should stop using these products immediately and contact DeVilbiss by calling Porter-Cable toll-free at 888-848-5175 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to locate the nearest service center for a free tire replacement.
