Plain-English summary
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Seventh Avenue Inc. are recalling approximately 1,200 units of the Kitchen Krumblers Apple Cinnamon Candle. The scented candle is housed in a clear glass holder and contains slices of dried apple and cinnamon sticks in the wax. The product was manufactured by Mostly Memories Inc. of Ozark, Missouri.
The recall was issued because the dried apples and cinnamon in the candle can ignite, causing a flare-up that breaks the glass and spreads fire. Three reports have been received of the candle flaring up, breaking the glass, and spreading fire. No injuries have been reported.
The candles were sold by The Country Door Catalog and Web site from February 2004 through May 2004 for about $12. Consumers should stop using the candle and return it to Country Door for a refund. For more information, contact Country Door at (800) 659-6473 between 8 a.m. and 12 a.m. CT.
