The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling Mica Tree Candleholders manufactured by Cape Craftsman of Wilmington, N.C. The recalled products are copper and mica candleholders sold in rectangular and square shapes. The square-shaped candleholder is 8.5 inches tall with evergreen tree cut-outs, while the rectangular-shaped candleholder is 10 inches tall with cut-outs of an evergreen tree, a star, and a moon.
The recall is due to a fire and burn hazard. Flames from the tealight candle can ignite the candleholder. The company received one report of the rectangular-shaped candleholder igniting after a consumer lit the tealight candle. No injuries have been reported.
Approximately 800 units were sold at Coldwater Creek stores nationwide from October 2003 through November 2003 for about $20. Consumers should contact Customer Service toll-free at (800) 262-0040 between 6 a.m. and 3 a.m. ET or visit www.coldwatercreek.com to return the product for a full refund, including postage, and receive a $20 gift card.
