What this means for you

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where blade ends can break off and become projectiles, but no injuries have been reported.

Plain-English summary

Shivvers Manufacturing is recalling blower blades for the Country Clipper Jazee and Jazee One Grass Collection Systems. The recall involves 125 grass collection units sold nationwide from September 2003 through May 14, 2004. The recalled blades have model numbers 629-306P, 629-307P, and 629-308P and are black with two slots cut near the middle.

The ends of the blades can break off and become projectiles at high speed. This occurs because slots in the blade cause metal fatigue. Shivvers has received six reports of blade ends breaking off, but there have been no reports of injuries or property damage.

Consumers should stop using the mowers with the recalled blades immediately. They should call the Country Clipper dealer to make an appointment for free replacement of the blades. Consumers can also call Country Clipper toll-free at (800) 344-8237 or visit www.countryclipper.com.
