The affected cameras are indoor video cameras covered with a smoked plastic dome measuring about 6 inches in diameter. They were sold from January 1, 2002, to October 17, 2003, to independent dealers who installed them in commercial buildings. The cameras were not sold directly to consumers and typically cost between $1,000 and $1,700. Honeywell has received one report of a camera assembly falling from a ceiling, but no injuries have been reported.

To identify the recalled units, check for part numbers AD5RCPP16, AD5GCMPP18, AD5GCPP18, or AD5GCPP22. Serial numbers are located on a white label inside the product on the side of the camera mounting and range from G01 (January 2002) to G12 (December 2002) and H01 (January 2002) to H08 (August 2003). Affected parties should contact Honeywell Video Systems at (800) 573-0154 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to arrange for a free repair of the mounting assembly.
