The recalled quick releases were sold as standard equipment for RD-400 and XC-300 bicycle wheelsets and also separately. They were sold nationwide through bike shops, catalogs, and websites from October 2003 through September 2004 for $49.95 per set. The levers are laser etched "FSA" and the end pieces have a distinctive round shape.

There have been 12 reports of the quick release mechanism failing, but no injuries have been reported.
