The hazard is that the battery packs can detach from the power tool unexpectedly and strike the operator or bystander, resulting in injuries. Two reports of batteries detaching have been received, but no injuries have been reported. The battery packs were sold nationwide at home improvement, hardware, and mail order outlets as part of kits or individually as accessories and replacements.

Consumers should stop using the affected battery packs immediately.
