Holophane, a division of Acuity Lighting Group, Inc., is recalling approximately 1,500 Enduralume and Low Profile Enduralume luminaires. These products are optical assemblies used in High Intensity Discharge luminaires for industrial and commercial installations. The assemblies consist of a glass refractor and an aluminum reflector and were manufactured in the USA.
The recall was initiated because the glass portion of the luminaire optical assembly may crack, presenting a laceration hazard. Holophane has received one report of cracked glass, but no injuries have been reported.
These luminaires were sold through electrical distributors nationwide from January 2002 through February 2002. All distributors and customers who received these optical assemblies have been notified to stop using the products and have been sent replacement parts. Consumers who have received replacement parts should stop using the luminaires immediately and install the replacement parts.
